First comes the observing, then the drawing, and lastly, the painting: Art for Dib has been in her veins all of her life. God blessed her with a love for painting.
With a BA from University of Kentucky, Dib studied JMW Turner for light, Rien Poortvillet for animals and their expressive movement, and Andrew Wyeth for spacial awareness, to name a few. She uses acrylics and watercolor, with an occasional strike of pastels.
Dib’s style is realistic when it comes to animals and fish, but leans into impressionistic for land and seascapes.
Dib lives in the Western North Carolina mountains where good light, mountain views, and subject matter are plentiful. She lives there with her husband of 50 years, having four children and their families only a few hours away.
